Rome, Italy-based extreme metallers, ABORYM, have announced the addition of guitarist Giulio Moschini (Hour Of Penance) to the group’s ranks. Giulio brings a wealth of experience to Fabban’s band, having performed with ABORYM during their last live shows and after a very long career with Hour of Penance.
At the same time the band announced an amicable parting of the ways with their drummer, Bard “Faust” Eithun, who has been with the band since 2005.
“After the Emperor-gigs this summer it is my intention to calm down the band activities”, comments Bard. “Basically because I have reached a point where it is difficult to combine being in a band with family and other commitments and I am slightly fed up “being in a band” as such. Sadly this also involves ABORYM so it is with a sad heart I have decided to leave the band with immediate effect. Next year I would have been a part of the band for 10 years and I appreciate the three albums we made together. However, it is time to leave the drum chair for someone who are actually able to provide the time and effort the band requires. I wish both Fabban and Paolo Pieri the best of luck with their future endeavours”.
Formed in 1992 by frontman Fabban, ABORYM started life as a covers band and went through several transformations, eventually pioneering what the band calls hard-industrial-electro extreme metal. The current lin up consists of Italians Fabban on vocals, bass and synths and Paolo Pieri (Hour Of Penance) on guitars, keyboards and programming, together with new member Giulio Moschini (Hour of Penance) on guitars.
