NACHTMYSTIUM To Commence Recording New LP In July

Thursday, 6th June 2013

Remember when NACHTMYSTIUM frontman Blake Judd shot down reports that the group had disbanded and claimed that a new studio album would arrive before the end of the year? There just may be some truth to the statement made in mid-April as Blake Judd posted an update today via social networking website, Facebook.

Judd expects the  new LP to be unleashed in October/November of this year, with engineering to be manned by Chris Djuric from Belle City Sound in WI and production to be handled by the frontman himself. He also cautions that with the upcoming TWILIGHT release, Beneath The Tridents Tomb, that the exact date of the untitled LP from NACHTMYSTIUM may be pushed back to early 2014.

Judd comments: “Recording for NACHTMYSTIUM LP #7 begins on July 5. Super psyched. Title TBA, will be released on Century Media Records worldwide. Will be in the studio for nearly six weeks total on this one, which is nearly three weeks longer than we’ve ever worked on an album. I’d expect an October / November release date most likely. However, if Beneath The Tridents Tomb from TWILIGHT is going to be released around that same time, I may ask CM [Century Media] to push the release of the new NACHTMYSTIUM back until early 2014.”

He adds: “I will be producing the record. We’re working with a new studio engineer on this one as well. Chris Djuric from Belle City Sound in Racine, WI. He’s recorded countless great albums from well-known Chicago metal bands over the last decade and a half. He also is the guy who mixed and helped me finish track the Worldfall EP back in 2007. I’ve worked with him also on KRIEG’s Blue Miasma.”

This all should bring solace to NACHTMYSTIUM fans as many were left in the dark as to the band’s current state back in April. Judd had partaken in numorous interviews stating that NACHTMYSTIUM was not a priority any longer. In addition, NACHTMYSTIUM parted ways with longtime guitarist Andrew Markuszewski and synth player/audio specialist Sanford Parker (CORRECTIONS HOUSE) and subsequently cancelled all of its upcoming shows.

NACHTMYSTIUM’s sixth album Silencing Machine, was released in July 2012 through Century Media Records.
