Probably something we should have started a long time ago (read: when some of us on this site were doing time on Blistering.com), this is our inaugural Album of the Month entry.
Thankfully, we’re not the last site to the party for such a feature, but we aren’t the first, but, given the high volume of reviews we produce on a monthly basis, there has to be one album that stands above the rest, right? Behold, our February 2014 winner, Behemoth.
An excerpt from Bridget Erickson’s 10/10 review, which posted February 3, 2014:
Vicious and sharp with not one hint of scuffle, Nergal is sanctified as a harsh vocalist as he thunders his naturally wicked throat, roaring sacrilegious lyrics in pervading breaths of the infernal as if he were the priest of Hell or Satan himself.
Satanists, pagans, occultists, disciples of black metal, and followers of the great Behemoth, unveil your horns, dress in black robes, sharpen sacrificial-ritual blades, and prepare for the erotic demonic glory of The Satanist.
