OPETH Announce Free ‘Record Store Day’ Performance

Swedish progressive metal masters, Opeth will hold a signing and free acoustic performance on April 20 in celebration of  “Record Store Day”. The public event will take place at Newbury Comics in Leominster, MA at 3PM.

With the idea founded in 2007 and officially commenced in 2008 by METALLICA. “Record Store Day” takes place on the third Saturday of every April and brings together artists and independently owned record stores around the world to celebrate music. Special vinyl and CD releases and various other promotional products are made exclusively for the day and sold.

OPETH’s North American tour in support of latest album, “Heritage,” kicks off this April 18 and runs through May 26th.  Martin Mendez, bassist, said the following about the upcoming dates: “We’re doing a different kind of tour than last time. Last time some of the fans were disappointed because we were really promoting the last record and we didn’t do any of the really heavy songs. But this time we are doing is mish-mash of everything. I hope — I think it will be appreciated.”
