Song Premiere: Black Hole Deity’s ‘Blast Pit’

Alabama’s Black Hole Deity have been slowly building towards their debut full-length. Dropping their first single in 2019 and an EP in 2021, at long last the death metal act is nearly ready to unleash the eagerly anticipated first LP Profane Geometry.

As part of the build up towards that release, we have an exclusive special treat in the premiere of a fresh new track titled “Blast Pit.”

Black Hole Deity play a direct and pulsating style of death metal, with a science fiction and horror theme that fits the band’s musical approach like a Xenomorph hiding in plain sight. “Blast Pit” is an apt name, with the song exploding like a supernova of rhythmic savagery. The guitars are pacey, boasting sizable riffage and gravity-bending lead work.

Vocalist Chris White emits waves of gritty snarls in his delivery as the song twists from white knuckle intensity to more mid-paced sections to provide variance when appropriate. If this entry is any indication, we’re going to have an atom crusher of a death metal album to savor. Check it out below:

Profane Geometry will drop on July 5, and can be pre-ordered on physical formats via the Everlasting Spew store (vinyl available later in the summer) and digital via Bandcamp. Be sure to also give a listen to the bombastic first single from the record “Crucible Knight” now!
