Azure Emote is the side project of Mike Hrubovcak (Monstrosity) that combines brutal death metal with operatic choirs, violins, industrial sampling, and keyboards to create something that feels oddly unique. Despite the strange elements, it all fits together well and it’s the type of album that you don’t know quite what you will get around the next corner. It may not be for everyone, but will certainly appeal to fans of more avant-garde death metal like The Project Hate.
Their most recent effort, 2013’s The Gravity of Impermanence, is their second offering, after 2007’s Chronicles of an Aging Mammal.
Both albums are available at their Bandcamp site in both physical and digital formats.
