Band You May Have Missed: Konkeror

Konkeror play thrashy death metal that feels like a combination of Melechesh, Death, and Morbid Angel. With their 2012 debut, The Abysmal Horizons, Konkeror seemingly already understand how to straddle the line without going too far in any direction (and not in the ‘play it safe’ way either). The songs are heavy yet melodic, the solos and leads are technically-savvy yet classy and tasteful, and the vocals are decipherable yet brutal. The result is an exceptional album that should appeal to almost any extreme metal fan. Hopefully we can expect another release from them soon…
