Is there ever a time when metal fans don’t crave a little bit of fresh death metal to absorb? We at DR are happy to oblige, and have teamed up with Transcending Obscurity Records to bring forth a track from supergroup Down Among the Dead Men’s upcoming album (which of course features David Ingram and Rogga Johansson). …And You Will Obey is set to be released on June 15, 2018, and “Axis of Insanity” can be streamed below. “Axis of Insanity” is about what you would expect from the band at this point, with having two albums already under their belt now. It’s in your face, it’s got some mid-tempo stomping riffs to it, and the blistering crust edge is in complete sync with the old school death metal feel that its members are built from. The energy is palpable from start to finish, with chaotic speed and crusty infusion giving things plenty of punch, never giving you a moment to catch your breath. Complete with a real scorcher of a solo, it’s exactly the type of thing that’s going to light a fire under anyone who listens. It settles in nicely with the rest of the album’s approach – frantic, go for the throat type of stuff that extreme fans crave.
