ORANGE GOBLIN Suffers Blowout On Auto-Bahn, Band Updates On Guitarist’s Injury

Tuesday, 23rd July 2013

London, England based stoner metal band ORANGE GOBLIN suffered a blowout on the Auto-Bahn today according to the band’s official Twitter page and has them asking when the streak of bad luck will end.

ORANGE GOBLIN tweeted: “Huge blow out on the auto-bahn. Well done to driver Steve for keeping control. The nightmare continues.”

Another tweet followed shortly after with a photo from the blow out and is available for viewing below.

As previously reported, guitarist Joe Hoare suffered an injury to his Achilles tendon and had to be flown home for further care. The injury has Hoare sitting out the rest of the European tour and it was reported that the guitarist would require surgery. However, according to a statement posted via Facebook today, that is no longer true.

ORANGE GOBLIN writes: “Joe [Hoare] is now home and relaxing/recuperating with his family. He didn’t need an operation in the end as the doctors in the UK advised him that the injury will heal itself in time so he is in plaster and on crutches for the foreseeable future. It looks likely that he will miss the rest of the European Tour but will be back in time for North America in September/October.

In the meantime, Neil continues to do a great job of standing in for him. We have a day off today but will be at Metaldays Fest in Slovenia tomorrow.”
