MOTORHEAD’S Phil Campbell: Lemmy “Is Alive And Kicking”

Sunday, 4th August 2013

MOTORHEAD guitarist Phil Campbell has posted a message on Twitter regarding rumors of frontman Lemmy Kilmister’s health:

“Contrary to some reports, Lem [MOTÖRHEAD mainman Lemmy Kilmister] is alive and kicking so take no notice of these rumours from asshole tweeters.”

MOTÖRHEAD was forced to cut its set short at this year’s Wacken Open Air festival in Wacken, Germany due to Lemmy’s health.

The band played only six songs this past Friday before leaving the stage, effectively pulling the plug on what was supposed to be a 75-minute concert.

Blabbermouth is reporting Brazilian promoter Top Link Music, which had organized MOTÖRHEAD’s tours in Latin America in the past, posted a message earlier today erroneously announcing that Lemmy had died. The message cited a phone call that Top Link Music’s Paulo Baron received at 2:30 a.m. — supposedly confirmed by several other sources — indicating Lemmy had passed away. Top Link Music has since retracted the statement and apologized for the error.
