Tuesday, 14th May 2013

Montreal-based death metallers, KATAKLYSM have announced that their forthcoming album titled, Waiting For The End To Come has been tentatively scheduled for an October release via Nuclear Blast Records. The successor to 2010′s “Heaven’s Venom” will be recorded by Dagenais and will be mixed by Chris Harris (SUFFOCATION, HATEBREED, ARSIS). The Canadian death metal legends also revealed three new song titles to appear on the album,’If I Was God…I’d Burn It All’, ‘Under Lawless Skies’, and ‘Kill The Elite’.

KATAKLYSM recruited ex-NEURAXIS drummer Oli Beaudoin last month to man the sticks during the recording sessions for their new album. Beaudoin will also play all of KATAKLYSM’s announced shows starting on May 23 in Germany, more confirmed dates are available below.

KATAKLYSM guitarist Jean-François Dagenais commented: “Oli played with KATAKLYSM before on the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise last year and he did a phenomenal show. He is extremely talented , focused and ready to do the job needed. Some of you might be familiar with him from his work with NEURAXIS and session work with KEEP OF KALESSIN and BELPHEGOR. We are very happy to have him on board and he comes with a thumbs-up approval from Max as well. We have one hell of a ride in store for you with this new album, so let it begin.”

Drummer Max Duhamel announced on April 8 that he was taking a break from KATAKLYSM to deal with issues related to alcohol abuse. “I have been struggling with many personal issues the last year but lately, the main one has been alcohol,” shared Duhamel previously. “It’s been affecting my body in a very negative way to the point that when I came home after the EX DEO tour we just did, I tried to stop drinking for few days and it’s been very hard without having any with drawls symptoms. I’ve also lost a lot of weight as some of noticed recently and I’m not in good shape.”
