NIGHTWISH Post New Making-Of Clip For Upcoming Album

Wednesday, 30th July 2014

NIGHTWISH have released episode 2 in a series of video clips that feature footage from the making of the band’s new studio album, which is set to be released in the spring of 2015 through Nuclear Blast.

In the latest clip, NIGHTWISH offers a glimse at the demo recordings for the new songs, all done “by the lake.”

Commented keyboardist and main composer Tuomas Holopainen: “This is the third time we’ve opted to demo the songs in the wilderness. It’s proven to be a very effective arrangement.”

Added bass player and vocalist Marco Hietala: “There’s stuff that sounds excellent already and stuff that clearly needs some work still. We have such a strong belief in the end result that we know if will work like alchemy: Scheiße [German word for ‘crap’ or ‘shit’] will turn to gold.”

Holopainen recently spent two and half weeks in Hattula, Finland with the band’s producer/crew member Tero “TeeCee” Kinnunen recording a demo of the songs that will appear on NIGHTWISH’s next studio album, the first to feature Dutch singer Floor Jansen.

Commented Holopainen: “From the moment I start writing the song, I have the story in my head. I have a really clear vision how the songs should sound like at this point. Of course, they will change after band rehearsals and arranging. And they should change.”
