Canyon of the Skull’s Erik Ogershok: What I’m Listening To

Saturday, 7th November 2015

My current playlist is a mix of old and new. I am listening to Swallow the Sun’s Emerald Forest and the Blackbird as I type this. I am anxious for their new record which I just bought over the internet from some shop in Finland. They have one of the best vocalists in all of metal and write catchy doom metal songs.

Speaking of vocalists, I’ve been listening to a lot of Fates Warning again lately. John Arch is one of my favorites and Awaken the Guardian and The Spectre Within are always in rotation. I love everything about these two records.

I’ve also been revisiting Loop in the wake of their new EP. I’m a huge fan of minimalism in art and they have a great mix of that and modern psychedelia. I was stoked when they reformed and released their Array 1. I can’t wait for the next releases in the series.

bellwitch-longingBell Witch’s Longing and Four Phantoms have been played heavily since they came out. They are both beautifully bleak records.

It is safe to say that I have listened to one or more albums from these bands this week, Black Sabbath, Yes, Pink Floyd, Neurosis, Celtic Frost/Tryptikon, Aosoth, Emperor, Mozart and Beethoven.

Canyon of the Skull’s self-titled EP can be purchased at this location.
